In this conversation between Apeike Umolu and anti-apartheid revolutionary and Black Consciousness philosopher Dr Barney Pityana, Dr Pityana discusses the philosophy that underpinned the Black Consciousness Movement in South Africa from the 1960s to the present day.

This conversation was part of “The Pan-African Pantheon” lecture series hosted by the Institute for Pan-African Thought and Conversation at the University of Johannesburg, chaired by the Apeike Umolu of the African History Project.
