Pan-African Education, Legacies of Colonisation and Globalisation
In this lecture and conversation, educational theorist and leading Pan-African scholar, Dr John K Marah, lays out the case for the development of a Pan-African education policy.
Dr Marah’s 2018 seminal work, “Pan-African Education: A Must for the African Union”, outlines the impact of colonisation on education in Africa and why a Pan-African education agenda that nurtures trans-national and trans-cultural citizenship is of critical importance to the future development of the continent and its diaspora. In this conversation he gives us an overview of his findings and set out how best to proceed.
